Ripped a movie with DVDDecrypter. Transcoded with IC, took my own language sub, and Dolby AC3 6CH 48Kbps, skipped the rest of the subs/audio channels..Burned with IC as well(to RW)..Tried to played the finished RW disk with PowerDVD XP..Audio ok on the menu title, but not on the main movie, when I let PowerDVD XP show the info, then it shows audio as Dolby Digital 2.0
Open the ifo file in ifoedit, this one says audio to be Dolby AC3 6CH 48Kbps.
What is happening?
Thanks in advance for any advice..
Edit:
Ok..I obey that rule..
Hmm..seems like I cant edit the subject..
2nd Edit: I use offcourse the Final Retail 7.0.0.91 + reghack..

mods where are you? Can we enforce forum rule #9 just a tad please?
On the dvd Robin Williams live on broadway...I played original in PowerDVD and by default is uses PCM audio. It was easily switched to 5.1 but I guess it depends on how it's original setup to default to. So perhaps we need to include the default audio in IC?

I'm having the same friggin' problem. Ripped The Godfather with DVDDecrypter. Used IC and kept 5.1 and Commentary. IC created DVD but now I only have 1 English and it is showing up as 2 CH english. It seems like it transcoded my 5.1 into a 2 ch. and removed the commentary track all together. Same thing happened on second movie, About A Boy. I am really getting frustrated. Hicky, what version of IC are you using?

I have the godfather trilogy here and that's next on my list
thanks for the warning
I did come across a similar problem before with Monsters when I removed 2 of 4 audios (French & DTS), I kept the 5.1 & readalong
the audio menu was no good as the audios were now mixed up and 5.1 was on DTS selection and readalong audio was on 5.1!
and when I put the DVD in the default audio was the readalong!
A few clicks in ifoedit soon rearranged that so at least 5.1 was 5.1 on the menu and the default audio
the readalong is on the french selection in the menu but I'm not that fussed as a simple press of audio on remote will switch between the 2 and I couldn't be bothered to work out if I could fix it completely as I was happy with 5.1 working
this is the only bug I have seen regarding removing certain audio's
but I have noticed if you put the DVD or ifo files created by IC back into IC the audio files in the main movie file are missing info and some don't show totals

I would recommend that you ALWAYS verify ifos with IfoEdit after using IC, for two reasons. The first is this very thing. The second is you probably want to make more changes anyways (like removing the PRE commands for stupid Warnings, Trailers, etc.) IC does alot of the multi-pgc, and menu legwork, so just verifying your IFOs with IFOEdit isn't that big of a deal IMO.

good suggestion for people int 21h as I always think it's better to pre test your DVD and add any final touches before burning, so I 2nd that tip, it's just a shame that Pinnacle decided on using a PDI image instead of giving the user the option to check before burning
hopefully they will give us the choice in an update as this will p a lot of people off having to use pdixtract to check files 1st all the time taking more time & disc space (not much but we still shouldn't have to do it)

Someone ought to drop an email to Alchohol and DTools people and get them to add .pdi support, shouldn't be hard considering others in this forum have already done the initial research to decipher the file format.
Maybe I'll email them when I get home.

Doh, I just figured out my problem. The "always remove" setting for English was checked. Don't know how that happened, I've made several backups without problem in the past. I knew something was up when the final size of the image was larger than the estimate, usually it's the other way around.

I would recommend that you ALWAYS verify ifos with IfoEdit after using IC
May I ask how do you do that?
Sure you have to extract the pdi image, but do you compare the original ifo with the ifo made by IC?

You hit Disc Play in IFOEdit and mess around with playing your disc, making sure it doesn't get any strange errors. You hit Get VTS_Sectors for the heck of it, and you verify that in Video_TS.ifo (and the titleset.ifo) the audio/video stream information is actually what your vobs now contain.

Hehe...Stupid me...Have to report another user related bug...Allways when I rip a dvd, I assume the first or upper audio choice to be the main movie audio, not on the one I ripped, the audio I choosed was the director`s comment..
Did I hear someone say..Newbie...eh...

so it works ok now?
I just had this problem with Simpsons and audio selection in menu, but a few swift clicks in ifoedit sorted it, but it's a shame /ic can't do it automatically :(
