pinnacle capturing

Hi!
I captured from VHS a movie using pinnacle studio 8 (i can make it from there to svcd directly but wanted to try avi2svcd).I found somewhere on internet that i have to convert captured avi with canopus converter otherwise cce or tmpeg wont encode using avi2svcd, and after converting avi to canopus and svcd creation is done guess what after everything is done quality of movie is much better than original pinnacle studio 8 converting to svcd (at least to me) but the movie oscillate using cce or tmpeg. wheres the catch possible bug ? any ideas ?

I'm not sure I understand your problem. Are you sure you have to convert with Canopus first?? I am no expert with AVI's but that could be where your "oscillation??" comes from?

Change the field oder from A - B or vice versa and try with upper field first
