What bitrate on a DV input?

I´m using Pinnacle Studio 8 to get my Camcorder DV to DVD...
The input to the computer is through a firewire (directly Camcorder - PC).
The software is recording at full DV (but there's a option for bitrate - greyedout - that is showing 3750)...
The questions are:
- Am I recording to the PC at 3750?
- Or full DV doesn't have anything to do with bitrate?
- If the input is at 3750... will it have any difference in rendering to DVD at 4000 or 8000???

- Yes, you are recording at a fixed bitrate of ~3.6MB/s.
- The MPEG-2 bitrate will decide the video quality on your DVD. 8000 kbps will give you almost the same quality as the original DV source, whereas 4000 kbps is still good quality, but you'll probably recognize more differences to the original. The difference of choosing 4000 vs. 8000 kbps is quality and filesize.

Note the difference: DV is 3750 kilobyte per second, the DVD bitrate is 4000 or 8000 kilobit per second (and that is only 500 or 1000 kilobyte per second)
