View Full Version : How to fix the Red Colour when using Canopus Procoder?

canopus seems that it can't encode the red colour properly. If you try to encode an anime with any part coloured in red you'll see macroblocks only in the red area, and the rest is ok. Why? There's any way to avoid or fix it? I've tried using YUY2, YV12 and RGB colourspaces but nothing happens.
Please Help!!!
Here's an example. http://www.iespana.es/lawebdejotero/eva2.jpg
Look at the red parts and compare them with white, orange, green or purple parts.
The original video doesn't have this problem with colors...

Try using FixBrokenChromaUpsampling() at avi synth script to solve the described problem.
Refer to http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33526.
About color correction which may be of interest to you, refer to http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45226.
edit: I am not sure the canopus procoder has the same issue as the canopus dv codec. I only noticed you wrote procoder now, thought you were talking about dv codec, sorry, but try it anyway.

I've tried what you told me but the problem keeps on.
Ill try to explain my problem a little better... It doesn't mind what kind of output file I encode. making an Avi, MPEG or DV output file Procoder does the same red macroblocks in all of them.
Using the FixBrokenChromaUpsampling() the macroblocks are still bigger!
So... what can I do?
I've visited canopus forum and there's a post with the same problem, the support department has answered but they don't say any solution.
