InstantCopy VOBSRC.AX error. Am I the only one?

I've already placed this question @ dvdrhelp but it seems that nobody has this problem:

This message appears at the end just before finish - arrrrrgghhhh!!!!!
Everything else appears to be just fine.

Version: TRIAL
Hacks: IC7_MovieOnly.zip, and DVDMagic flag (search on regedit) set to "1" - necessary to make title selection


I've already tried the full version and the problem remains.
The message above appears when I select HD output; if I select SONY burner it sometimes works well (apparently after a total system shutdown - power off not reboot). The second time I try to burn a DVD (without a "proper" shutdown) it gives an error (failed).

I don't even see that file (VOBSRC.AX) on my system....

I have two other PINNACLE products (PCTV Pro and STUDIO DV) and I really don't have much luck with their produts...


Can someone help me here, please?

In 2k/XP, you can open a command prompt, navigate to your system32 folder, and type regsvr32 /u dvobsub.ax (then when you want to re-enable it, regsvr32 /i dvobsub.ax) You may need to search for the file.. but I'm pretty sure it goes into system32.

About my last post concerning VOBSRC.AX: I found the "problem".

If you install InstantCopy in a NTFS drive and try to produce the PDI image in a FAT32 you should have the same error I had...
Once I tried to create the image in another NTFS drive, everything worked like a charm.

Again, bad coding... These kind of bug shouldn't exist in a software from a house like Pinnacle!

But still is a great piece of software... :)

sweet gonna add this to the guide....thanks jopereira for the tip . Can't test this out myself since all my partitions are NTFS...used to have FAT32 for some but 13GB mini-DV .avi files force your to convert to NTFS.

Can others please verify this?

Registry Edited

Disc and info - Speed Racer
11 EP Disc
38 VOBs total.

Disc ripped with BOTH Decrypter and Smartrip.

My VOBSRC file is version number 1.0.0.7 and I'm having the same error on this disc.

It is specifically occuring when IC is analyzing vob #12.
Vob #12 is an 16 sec intro file.

I had also posted to VCDHELP and my waiting period has finally ended on DOOM so here I am....

Any ideas MR. Bass....?? or ther contributors??

ok mine is 1.0.0.7 also..so guess that isn't it. In c:\winnt\system32 I have a VOBRegcheck.exe I wonder if that's related or not...no clue. I double click it but nothing seems to happen.
