Hi There

I know the basics of putting a svcd onto dvd but am i doing it right

First of all i am joining the films together using tmpgen
then i am splitting the video and audio
ie mv2 and mp2
i know that u have to change the audio rate from 44100 to 48000
at this point i can just use infoedit to mux them back together
i know about the dvd patcher stuff etc where u have to change from 480 to 352 so u can load it into dvdit or spruceup
the problem i am having is i can't get it to have sound when using programs like dvdit or spruceup
any ideas what i am doing wrong???

Razerman, how do you change the audio from 44 to 48 kkhz and why don't you mux the new audio file with the video using Tmpeg. Probably Ifoedit doesn't create a DVD complinant file. Furthermore DVDit will transcode your audio anyhow to LPCM later in the process.
Suggest to use another program like DVD workshop.
Just change resolution with DVDpatcher (only of first header) of the SVCD file load the file in DVD workshop and produce your DVD. DVD workshop will convert the audi for you.
When vob's are create change resolution of the vob to SVCD(only needed in first package, rest of package in VOB will have correct resoltion setting, remember you changed only first header with DVDpatcher) using Vobedit. This step is not really necessary, in fact the first frames will not be played correctly when you put this DVD in standalone player but as soon as next package in VOB is reached resolution will be ok. If DVD player still shows wrong resolution press pause and play again and resolution will be ok (asuming your DVD player is capable of playing SVCD).

Also on this site you can find a guide how to put SVCD or VCD on DVD
