VCDs on the PS2?

Plz, can anyone tell me if it is possible to play VCDs on the PS2 (off of a CD-R)? Some say it is possible, others say it isn't.


EDIT: My question does not involve DVD2SVCD, so I didn't really know which forum to post this thread.

Take a look at this link (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=445&Search=Search&#comments). It is the Playstation 2 entry in www.vcdhelp.com's DVD player database.

There are 94 reports, it may take you a while to go through them all, but the consensus at the top shows CD-R supported, VCD not. The details there will probably give you more than you need to know.

Hello good evening and welcome to the forum :D AFAIK nope, its not possible to play vcd on ps2.But the play-station movie format is similar to vcd , so you could convert the dvd to a play-station movie file , i had a bit of trouble with it about 3 years ago on a Play-station one.i never really tried though but if i find the software / link i will post .
