I searched for this but didn't get any answers to help. I just reformatted my computer. I installed everyting (stable xvid build) and stuff. My question is, I just did a encode on this fresh computer and for some reason I got my first cyclic redundancy check in the 2nd pass avi. Did I forget to install something else? Or what should I do? Is it because I used VirtualDubMod? Anyhelp would be appreciated.

From my experience a cyclic redundancy check is a windows error meaning your hard drive is about to go belly up.
A surface scan may be in order to lock off bad sectors.
