View Full Version : How to add an Audiostream to a main menu of an authored DVD-R

I authored and burned a DVD-R containing the LOTR TT SVCD files with just the main menu and 1 button. I now would like to just add an AC3 audio stream to play when the main menu is displayed.

I no longer have the SVCD files just the DVD. Is there an easy way of adding the audiostream without having to go through the effort of extracting the MPEG 2 streams and than reauthoring it, perhaps using IfoEdit?

Thanks for any help.

I would like to know if this is possible as well.
Neither Scenerist or ReelDVD will allow me to add audio to a menu.

In DVD Maestro at creation it is very easy because you add it as an asset to the menu.

However in my case I have the VOB files and would like to know if and how to alter the already compiled DVD structure to include the audio stream.

you will need to reauthor to do it (if you dont have the old project and source files).

@mark

i cant seem to do it in ReelDVD quickly, but im sure scenarist will let you do it, but you may have to make the single frame menu into a motion menu or something, i havent really played with it, but yes maestro makes this easy to do ;)

Thanks for any help Auenf maybe you can assist.

I have the project file for Maestro however the MPV and AC3 source files I no longer have. Since you can author now with Ifo Edit I just wonder if there is a way to add the audio stream without having to rip the VOB files and extract the MPEG2 stream and AC3 sound files.

If not what is the easiest way to get the MPEG2 and AC3 files from the VOBs?

Thanks

He obviously made it from the Oscar Preview DVD sent to him by the studio for his consideration.

Enough said.

The easiest way would be to rip the dvd you have created using smartripper using stream processing to extract the ac3 and mpv files. Rename these files to same name you use in your project and make sure they folder is the same name. Open Maestro then open the project and you should be good to go (unless you no longer have your menu then you'll have to recreate this).

That is about your best way to do it. I don't know of a way to do it using IFO Edit.

Thanks Mickey,

That sounds like an excellent idea. I still have the menu, the project file the directory structure can be recreated the only thing I am missing is the MPV and AC3 files.

Are there any gotchas with smartripper with stream processing?

I've never run into a problem with stream processing. Actually all you need to do is demux the files, doesn't matter if you use Smartripper, DVD Decryptor just as long as you get the M2v and Ac3 files.

Hi folks,

after hours of searching I found this thread and wondering if some new solutions exist.
I bought a couple of concert DVDs with 2.0 stereo sound. After hours of transcoding I managed to make some 5.1 tracks (see Ambisonic in the audio section).
Now I am at the point to add those tracks to the existing VOB,IFO structure. :o

Is it (meanwhile) possible to do this without demuxing and reauthoring, with other words, simply add this track to the VOB (like in VirtualDub Mod or AVIMuxGUI with AVI files)
