Programs needed:
DVD Decrypter
Daemon Tools (Not really but makes it easier)
Makeiteasy (thanks to jdobbs for this tool)
DVD2ONE
IFOEdit
This only applies if your combined vobs exceed more than 9 vobs and want movie only. Picture quality will depend on length of movie.
1: Use dvd decrypter to make a iso of both side a and b.
2: Mount side A iso with daemon tools
3: Use DVD2ONE to downsize dvd to 4.3 gig. Save this to a folder (IE: Side A)
4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 for side b (except save to a different folder (IE: Side B)
Following steps are for side B only.
5: Delete VIDEO_TS.IFO/.BUP and VTS_01_0.IFO/.BUP
6: Use ifoedit to creat new ifo's. Save in the same folder.
7: Use makeiteasy to pad side b vobs. (See Note 1)
8: Using ifoedit get vts sectors and open up the vts_01_0.ifo and check the audio. Make sure that it is present.
9: Use DVD2ONE to downsize movie.
10. Remove padding with makeiteasy. (See Note 2)
11. Join created .vobs using vobedit with side A .vobs. (Should know how to do this already)
12. Rename vobs to the next .vob number following side A .vobs
13: Place renamed .vobs in side A folder.
Working with side A folder
14: Refer to step 5
15: Refer to step 6
16: Refer to step 8
17: Use DVD2ONE to downsize movie. (See Note 3)
And your done.
The whole process only took 1 hour to do.
Note 1 - To find out how much padding you need, add up the number of vobs total from side a and b and only pad what you need to reach the 9 vob limit after removing padding.
Note 2 - Do not use the update ifo function. Once you remove padding, your done with makeiteasy.
Note 3 - Side A should get the bulk while down sizing as it will be bigger.
Hope I explained this well.
