I have an old Samsung dvd player, the 509 I believe.

I already read it has issues with some dvd-r, but I managed to find 1x Shintaro that work fine.

DVD2One burnt dvd-r's worked absolutely fine, never had a problem.

First movie tried with Instant Copy, I found the DVD player could not even read the CD. I tried converting it to an iso with one of the helper programs, and the same problem occurred.

I tried putting the dvd-r in my xbox, it worked, but the movie skipped in some places.

I thought maybe it was my media, but when I use DVD2One I get absolutely no problems on either my dvd player or my xbox.

On the computer, the movie runs fine.

Any ideas?

Are you letting IC burn it directly, or using another program?

I actually tried 2 ways.

First was direct with IC. Second was using PDI2ISO and then burning with Recordnow Max.

I think your problem is the missing AUDIO_TS directory which IC didn't put into the PID file. Some Players (mostly old ones) need this directory, instead of this they won't play.

Use pidxtract to extract the pids to an directory (VIDEO_TS) and then just create a AUDIO_TS directory (must be in capital letters) and burn both directorys with your DVD Burn Program. Now it should works on your DVD Player!

Would be nice to have a program that could just insert the Audio_TS Directory into the pdi file

It is definatly possible since we have programs to convert and extract pdi files
