I'd like to get some opinions from the people that have duel cpu setups and use dvd2scd and the tmpg encoder. Do you notice a significant improvement in encoding? ...improvement in the entire process?

thanks

I don't know about dvd2svcd but I've been using TMPGEnc since beta 12a on various dual cpu machines (Abit BP6 & VP6 and MSI KD7), and since the beta until the latest version having a 2nd CPU gives a least a 50% boost to your compression times.

I have a dual 1.26 GHz PIII system. Using TMPGenc-2.58-PLUS (which costs money) both processors are 100% used (in WinXP), and it is about twice as fast as a single PIII of the same speed.

thanks. I'm convinced that duel is better. Even if the apps don't support duel, you have one cpu free for other tasks.

2CPU (http://www.2cpu.com) is a great site for everything dealing with dual cpus. They have some good forums and friendly people there that will help you out with info.
