The Brute Force Cracking Error ?

Heya i have this alot of times...
if i choose file or ISO mode in DVD Decrypter, alot of DVD's will not be ripped to HD because I get This Error:

Brute Force Cracking Failed
Device: [0:0:0] JLMS DVD ROM blabla
Reason: There Were No Vulnerable Blocks

Also after i play the dvd for a few secs, i get this error.
CSS option is: I/O Key Change ---> Brute Force

but sometimes i get the dvd out and put it in my Pioneer A04, i choose
those files that weren't ripped again.. and then they sometimes will
be copied to HD?

So anybody knows what the issue can be, maybe ASPI drivers orso
where to find them ?

There is some stupid problem with liteon 166 dvdroms.
I'm looking into it.

im getting that or it is taking 1.5 hrs to decrypt a movie then have it fail with dvd2one. i know the last one was a miramax film.

tried with pioneer dvd rom and sony 500a

I too have this error. This is the first time I have had this problem. I am ripping a movie to my hard drive, after it has gone so far I get the error: Brute Force Cracking Failed, The Reason: There were no vunerable blocks. Has anyone figured this problem out yet. There are options in the Decryptor settings, will it make any difference if I change the option for CSS Cracking.

Had this problem with Queer As Folk 1.
On the third vob Decrypter gave error as noted.

Changed to Smart Ripper and it successfully found key.
This was after a long time maybe 10 minutes.

It repeatly looked over & over. Decrypter stopped after coming
to end of bar.

Lightning should make Decrypter look for key repeatly.

I have tried to rip in ISO mode with DVD Decrypter and it still Shows Brute Force Error but this time when I click OK it continues to rip unlike when in File mode when it closes down after clicking OK. I have tried to use Smart Ripper but for some reason Smart Ripper is running really slow, when I say slow I mean slow ie overnight for 20% ripping. I have not used Smart Ripper for ages as Decrypter suited all my needs until now. Does anyone know what is wrong with Smart Ripper, I am running XP with plenty of memory and disc space.

i have this lite-on 166 too and it gives the same errors. not on all dvd's but on a lot it does...

All liteon 166's (165's ?) potentially have this problem. Wait for the next release.

So i take it from this thread that no-one has a clue what this is ? I seem to be having this same problem. Will give Smart Ripper a go but i really enjoyed using DVDDecryptor.

Well, the movies i have been having problems with work with SmartRipper. I'll just start using this instead i think.

All these problems will be fixed in the next release, but if you want to switch to using SR then go for it!

I would not recommend SmartRipper! I tried using it on about 4 to 5 movies, and have determined along with others that there can be some issues with it not ripping properly and creating "blocky" and skipping output. Just be ware! I can't wait for the new release of DVD Decrypter! Also, I'm wondering if the new CH11 firmware might have helped with this issue, has anyone tried the new firmware. I updated my drive to the CH11 firmware last night, and was able to rip Ice Age without any problems, but that does not tell me much as the error mentioned does not happen on all movies. I seem to remember one of the movies it occurred on was Office Space.

Has anyone read your last 3 posts in this thread? I have and I understand the problem, my Lite-On 166. No, I will not move to smartripper because your program is far superior. I'll just wait for your next release and work around the issue as necessary. Thanks for your ripper it is wonderful!
