I want to convert my captured DV/AVI files to svcd. WHen I capture and AVI file from my DV camcorder, is there a way that dvd2svcd will convert it to an svcd or is there others steps?

Thanks for the info..

Yes, in the Misc tab of DVD2SVCD choose AVI as the source. If you are going to view the footage on a TV don't deinterlace. If I remember correctly, you would also choose interlaced resize in the frameserver tab. Could be wrong on that one. It has been a while.

Just one hint: If you get into trouble with the video, try to change the AVS file manually: Change from AviSource to DirectShowSource (and don't forget to specify the frame rate in DirectShowSource).

isn't procoder easier to make a svcd than dvd2svcd for DV?

Yeah, if you are handy and know how to use the hand tools to demux and remux and author the disk. DVD2SVCD (now that it supports ProCorder) uses the same technique, just automated. D2S does first strip audio for separate encoding by Besweet (highest quality) and then remuxes with runBBmplex before authoring.

He has just come out with the ProCorder support so I imagine it will take him a few tries to get it as solid as he likes. I'm sure he will have if humming a tune before long.

yeah i think procoder is the way to go because it was hard for me ( have not gotten it to work yet) to get cce and vdub and seperate audio tools or dvd2svcd to take my DV avi and encode it... procoder works great... just wish i could apply filters
