I have written a spanish guide (http://peque.org/maurus) (sorry :() of Gordian Knot 0.27 and the codecs DivX 5.02.

While we waited for the new version of Gknot, I have including a chapter (http://peque.org/maurus/apuntes/taller.htm) that explains like using Gknot until script AVS, making after manually test compressibility or by DivX5 Enc 1.11 (thanks Jonny (http://jonny.leffe.dnsalias.com/) ;)) and finally to make the manual codification with VirtualdubMod.

Thanks

Hi-

Congratulations maurus! It looks like about the best organized, most complete GKnot-DivX5 Guide I've seen. Judging by the pictures anyway, because that's about all I can understand. :) But for the Spanish speaking GKnot-DivX5 beginners among us, I'm sure it'll be much appreciated. Good Work!

And you used The Iron Giant as your example. Even better.

Yes, i agree, a really well done job (and huge! a lot of text/images, this guide is full of particulars)
Many thanks, maurus, for your always active contribution to the encoding community!

I have updated again my Gknot guide (http://peque.org/maurus).

Now I added a chapter dedicated to the format multimedia OGM (http://peque.org/maurus/apuntes/ogm.htm).

Thanks.

I don't think GKnot .27 is working 100% properly with divx5.0.3
My files are turning out to be too small - I don't bother doing comp. test but in gknot .26 and divx5.0.2 I didn't have to bother. Would a compressiblity check be the answer to my problems? :)

Probably. Undersized files are not a Gknot-specific phenomenon. See this sticky thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24584) in the DivX 5 forum for more info....

Strange: I have converted 5 pieces DVD with GKnot 0.27 and DivX5.03 and MP3, the result: perfect file size !!! (I have tried the compressibility check, but it doesn't work (I have read later, that GKnot doesn't support comp. check with DivX5.03))

But I use GKnot as a GUI for creating the *.avs script and as a bitrate calculator (I do everything manually ..., I like to know what my machine does and why :) )

Sorry for my english

yep the problem is the automatized encoding with GKnot+VDub+5.0.3, other things works perfectly.
