I have given up with Instant Copy - just too much hastle and too many glitches at the moment what with missing subs, layer breaks etc.
I have just processed a movie with the new release of DVD2One and left enough room for the original menu which I have copied into the resulting VIDEO_TS folder. When I play the movie on my pc it works fine except I cannot select the menu, nor will a change to the "First Play PGC" trigger the menu. I assume this is because the .ifo files need to be edited to reflect the fact that there is a menu but I do not know how to do this.
I have tried using IfoUpdate - but it comes up with error "The Original IFO's PGC Area is not large enough to hold the new PGC"
I also tried using the create ifo function in IFoedit - the movie plays fine but I still cannot select or start with the menu. What can I do to correct this - HELP!!!

I could be wrong but I think you've done it the wrong way round. Instaed of copying the menu to the dvd destination folder. I think you must copy the .vobs from the destination folder to the original folder you ripped to.

In order to use the new DVD2one 1.0.1 for full disk copy (menus, extras etc.) you have to follow the same procedures that MakeItEasy used. The only difference is that you don't include the "padding" and "unpadding" steps. I personally stopped using MakeItEasy and instead do the final update with IFOUpdate in "Adjusted Cell" mode. Also be careful to not copy the color tables etc...

OK, I now have a working Titleset and can select the menu using the PC Player. My stripped subs are working and can be selected from the player menu. However (as I suspected) the menu buttons which select the subs from the movie menu are not working properly, becuase I assume, they are pointing to the old sub numbers which are no longer valid because I stripped out some subs with DVD2One
I saw a thread which talked about button editing and how to diasable them using Vobedit. However, there does not appear to be a way of repointing button functions, which is what I assume I must do here so that the "old" menu buttons point to the correct sub numbers. Is there a way of doing this or alternatively renaming the new sub ID numbers so that they are the same as they are in the original .ifo? If not I guess I am stuck with either having buttons in the menu which do not work (or alternatively keep all the subs and reduce video quality slightly).
Ho hum, see near yet so far to a "Perfect" user defined backup................

jdobbs,
I have not used ifoupdate before. Could you tell me what settings you use to correct the menus when you use dvd2one to allow extra space for the extras? I just downloaded ifoupdate, but I'm not sure which items to check or uncheck.
Goob

Addendum to this post -
Now I am really confused. The original ID numbers have been retained! So why are the menu buttons not working?
