CCE crashes when it reaches 2.3gb

I am trying to encode an avi file of 1.4gb which I import directly into CCE, don't touch much except make DVD compliant output, then press encode, it goes fine till the output mpeg hits 2.3gb then crashes, does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

there is either an error in the AVI, or you are coming across the 1GB AVI limit which is left over from the windows 3.11 days (i am assuming you are using CCE 2.50?)

best bet is to create an avs script to pass it into CCE:

AVISource("Yada.AVI")

I have established a stable system based on Athlon XP 2200+ and WinXP on NTFS filesystem. I have used DVD2SVCD and CCE 2.50 (patched) without problems many times, and I have believed I finally owe a stable encoding platform... until I have tried to encode "Das Boot - directors's cut" that is 209 minutes long. Now CCE crashes every time it reaches end of the pass. There are no hangs, CCE finishes pass and then generates "application error". The result file is 2.08 GB in size (2200 MB), 209 minutes. There is no system error - just application crashes. Have anyone tried to encode video longer than 200 minutes using CCE? I have succesfully encoded "Lord of the Rings" that was about 180 minutes, but I have never tried over 200 minutes before. IMHO there are 3 possibilities: 1) Frame server (Avisynth) generates this error when CCE moves to the beginning of the video, 2) CCE crashes because of the result file size, 3) CCE crashes because of the large frame number (not the result filesize, but rather result timelength).
Any suggestions? Experiences? I've heard before (but I don't remember where I have read it) that there are some issues with CCE and video length. Maybe this is general MPEG-2 time limitation?

I have succeeded to resolve the above problem. I have tried to set up NT 4.0 compatibility mode for CCE 2.50 and now encoder does not crash after finishing each pass. I have noticed about 5% decrease in encoding speed, but works stable. I have read advices to switch compatibility mode on for CCE 2.50, but problems appear only on large result files, in "normal" circumstances when encoding movie for 2 CDs (about 1.5GB) there are no problems without compatibility mode. I don't know what this NT 4.0 compatibility mode changes in XP SP1 system, but this works anyway.
