Struggling for couple of days to solve the problem of Yamaha CRW-F1 (http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/computer/extra/products/crwf1/crwf1.html). The board is ASUS's P4PE Deluxe (http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=p4pe) and OS in problem is XP Pro. The problem is CRW-F1 could not be initiated to start the actual burning process (and some even simulation mode) in every burning software I have, e.g., Nero (http://www.ahead.de/), DiscJuggler (http://www.padus.com/products/discjuggler/professional.php), CloneCD (http://www.elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/index.html) and Alcohol 120% (http://www.alcohol-soft.com/index.php?page=product). The burner is connected to intel's IDE port. It did not happen with my previous LiteON burner (http://www.liteonit.com.tw/english/new_p_e/english--p-rw481248.htm), nor with XP's built-in CD burning function, nor when I boot into linux. After de-installing the Intel Application Accelerater (http://downloadfinder2.intel.com/scripts-df/filter_results.asp?strOSs=44&strTypes=DRV%2CARC&ProductID=663&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&submit=Go%21), the problem went away. Has anybody experienced something like this?

It's too bad Yamaha throws in the towel for their CD-Writer business. Anyway, the Yamaha CRW-F1 is a replacement for my now retired LiteON 48125W. I'm so surprised that IAA has no issue with LiteON drive but acts up on CRW-F1. Check with local stores that IAA even acts up with Diablo.

This is the first piece of Intel's software that I will try to avoid in the future....;)
