I might be making a large project in the future and I will need to have it relicated onto DVD-9. What is the cheapest authoring software that will do this?
Or if there are any tools out there that will allow me to do this with a lesser authoring tool, that would be fine also.
Thanks

if your buring to dvd-9 then you got a professional burner and it should of came with somthing ( concidering what you must of paid for it ) ...
but if your authoring to tape and having a 3rd party buring for you .. i would recomend mestro ... dvdit is cheaper but hardly as functonal ... most decent authoring software should have a dvd-9 option ... the home cheapo types wont... but you dont want them anyway as i would imagine you want a decent result :-)
if your talking about doing a dual sided dvd-4 ( called dvd-9 in stores , but they arnt really ) then just author it like any other but in 2 parts .. one for each side.

for creating DVD-9, you NEED to get a DLT tape drive, and depending on the requirements of the plant, either write 1 DLT for the whole DVD-9 disc, or 1 DLT per layer (the 1 DLT per layer i think is accepted everywhere, unlike the single DLT dual layer option).
as for software, Maestro and Scenarist both do DVD-9, as does the two smaller Maestro versions, but not DVDVirtuoso.

there is a small table explaining the programs and their features, altho im not 100% the DVD-9 column is correct.
