I've bought a new setup (P4 2,53ghz, 500ddr, ATI9500, 2xbarracuda 80gb)with a pioneer dvdrom and a HP300i DVD burner.

When i burn DVD's it takes up 45 minutes to do al my things that i want to do concerning dvd burning, this is a lot of time since i cant game at the same time. :-(

My previous setup was a PIII 850, 500mb, 2x SCSI UW 9gb 10k rpm, 1x IBM 80GB
is it wise to us this configuration as DVD burner pc, bare in mind that i use it to make backups :-) of my own DVD's

I use a much lesser machine than your P3 850 to do my burning (Duron 900, SDRAM, IDE drives).

Agreed, why burn on your main machine when there's enough time for a few frags while burning ;).
