Disc in question, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (NTSC R1).
Now my kids have pretty much scratched the hell out of this movie, so I may have complications due to that, but I don't think so as DVD2one produced a perfect movie-only backup.

I started up instant copy (with the reg tweak) and deslected the "draw spirit" featurette in order to save more room for the movie. I let it do it's thing and a couple hours later I had my backup. But, the backup does not function. The movie will not play when I select play. It freezes PowerDVD and my Sony 715p standalone player.

Back to DVD2one for me.

Did you remove anything else? What sort of settings did you use? (remove user prohibitions, etc?)

There are many movies DVD2One messes up on, so I am sure this is really not suprising to you

I used no additional settings. Simply removed the titleset for the featurette. I'm going to try a complete backup and see if that works, but would have prefered the extra space for the movie.

Perhaps there is some sort of bug related to removing titlesets, and this is why it is not enabled (or even an option to change) in the program? I would check out the files in IfoEdit, maybe look at the PRE commands and do a Get VTS Sectors, just to be safe... it could save you some time.

My suggestion: Create a movie only DVD with Ifoedit. Once that works out of a Video_TS folder, let your choice of software shrink it to propper size...

When you start removing stuff you have to be careful you might wind up with a messed up movie. Why not just lower the Compression of the stuff you don't want?

It doesn't seem to me that removing titles using some reg hack for instant copy is supported by them. So it seems unfair to suggest Instant copy has problems when you use it in an abnormal manner.

I agree with atreides93. You can't say that instant copy hoses this or that if you used a hack. I myself have tried this and it works. I removed a title set and it just skipped it when I played it on my set top.
