component video

i have never used this before but just got a sony tv with component inputs and was gonna run it from it to my dvd player.. my ? is if i like it my other tv which is also a sony but 32" doesn't have component video but i run everything video wise through my onkyo receiver and the dvd player i use on it has component video also.. Will i gain an advantage running components in this setup through the
a/v receiver or will it be a waste of time b/c tv doesn't have actual
inputs for it.

You would not gain an advantage on the other tv. The primary advantage of component is color seperation delivering the perception of a sharper picture, eventually those seperated colors would have to be recombined before going to the non-component television (in this case by your reciever).

On the television that has the inputs, by all means, use them! You'll like it :D

thanks for the info. i suspected what u said.. the main reason i needed some reassurance for was b/c i was about to buy this cable off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3007617934&category=14965
to do it all since all my stereo stuff is hooked up to this t.v.
in the living room. but now i'll save the money and leave it hooked up
