No doubt about it; DVD2SVCD is SUPER !!!

But today my entousiasme is pretty low, because for the first time I have a problem and I hope someone can come up with a solution.

Here's my problem.
I want to encode a DVD, about 2 hr 53 min long.
When I look at the bitrate calculator (I want to use 3 x 800 Mb discs), in the row ''Between 163 and 99999 mins >>> use 3 CD-size 800 Mb'' the calculator gives as result: 1807 - ?????
But 'WHAT' or even better 'HOW MUCH' means ?????
If I'm not mistaken:
1807 is the min average bitrate
???? is the max average bitrate

My settings for the max bitrate are: 2530 while the min bitrate is set to: 0

Please let me know if you can help me: email removed: This is a forum please do not ask for help by email
Of course I would be very greatful for it!!!

Hm..ok
DVD2SVCD puts the ???? at 999999 because it doesn't know the end number. For example, from 50 to 110 minutes, 4100 to 1800. I just don't use the default numbers.
Mine are:
0 - 50 disc 1
50 - 110 disc 2
110 - 160 disc 3
160 - 215 disc 4
215 - 265 disc 5
265 - 999 disc 6

Oh, btw, setting the min to 0 can sometimes cause problems.

To find out what DVD2SVCD is caclulating just change the last number to equal your movie length. So in this case change the last changable number to 173(don't forget to put this back to something higher just incase your movie is a few minutes longer). This will show you what will be used based on your audio settings. So if you have it set to 192 then your bitrate will be 1691 which is sort of low, but do what you want.
You don't have to change anything though since the calculation is internal. Those settings on the bottom are just limitors and are not used unless you bump up against them.

The problem I have is as follows;

I want to encode a movie that is 96 mins in length using two 740MB cd. I set the bitrate to 0 - 49 mins disc 1 and 50 - 100 mins disc 2. However, once DVD2SVCD has completed producing the images and I burn this to cd, the first disc actually contains 65+ mins worth of movie while the second disc only contain 20 or so mins. What am I doing wrong??? MAX / MIN bitrates etc. I've left as default.

@tpham:

It is very impolite to post your problem in someone else's thread. Secondly, please do a search before you ask this sort of question. If you still have a question once a search is done, please make a new thread.

tpham you have the way the bitrate tab works all wrong.
Don't tag onto another thread that has nothing to do with your problem and first and foremost search. Even better read the Q+A and the FAQ too.
