Rendering with TMPGEnc

Two questions:
If I want to make SVCD with TMPGEnc, what kind of file shuld I make in Pinnacle Studio DV - AVI or MAKE TAPE?

I render in studio an AVI, and found the size is about 2 Giga for 10 minutes video, while I understood that every 10 minutes DV is about 4.5 Giga. Isn't AVI the same as dv?

DV-AVI is a AVI format with special MJPEG codecs, mostly at 3.5 MByte/s(28000kbps).
You should load all the parts of DV-AVIs in VDub via "append avi segments" and frame serving it to TMPG.
