My dvd rips tend to become blurry when theres a lot of movement on the clip. Anyone can advise me on how to fix this? I use CladDvd to rip the vobfiles, then i use virtualdub to encode with divx 5.02. I have seen good dvd rips like Love Hina Kanako ova. I use the deinterlace and subtitle filters on virtualdub, and the codec configurations are 3000 bitrate on 1-pass. Thanx by the way.

Which deinterlace filter are you using? If it's the internal one you're throwing away half your vertical resolution. With an adaptive deinterlacer you can retain a lot of that information.

Of course, if your material actually needs IVTC instead of deinterlacing, then that is really going to yuck up the result if you deinterlace it.

In case you can IVTC to get progressive frames, you might like to try MSharpen. It can be done on interlaced material as well, but to make it work best you have to first separate fields, then sharpen, then weave.
