View Full Version : Weird Pauses?!

On my vcd's I seems to get these pauses or minor delays every couple of seconds, its weird! It makes the whole film seem jerky and is V annoying! Anyone else have this problem?

I split the avi using spiltcalc, then ripped the wav using virtua/nan dub. Then using TMPGenc i used the avi file for a video source and the wav as an audio. This gave me a pretty good mpeg when played back on my notepad and the audio was perfectly matched to the visuals.

I then used Nero to burn the vcd. Is my method the problem? Was I supposed to tinker with the frame rate or something?

Regards

Nisho

Are you adding other TRACKS on your VCD's besides your original Mpeg. Because I was having kind of a similar problem, and if you are adding tracks to you VCD then just skip over it, and it worked for me. I don't know why but it's weird, because I was using Nero as well. Reply back.

other tracks? I dont think so, is it because the file is huge? Im only using the mpg converted from the original movie (was a 700mb avi with divx). I was thinking of using svcd format instead in the future but I doubt that will resolve this weird pause issue.

When u said u were having the problem was it with movie files as well?

Write back. Cheers

do u think it would be better if we used that 'create an image' feature? Its supposed to give better quality I think.

Ok I added an Intro and AFTER the main movie, Change CD track. When I put the CD in the Player and let it just play the intro works fine, BUT when it goes to the next track it starts to play and freeze for 1 second, jerkiness...Now when I take the CD out and put it in again BUT this time I skip over the Intro and start playing the main movie, it plays perfect, BUT then when the movie is finished, the Change CD track plays jerky, even though noone notices that due to the blackness..I hope I was specific enough...

is that feature in Nero or VCDEasy ? and BTW (Trying not to offend)
creating an Image of a file that has already been encoded really cannot give a better quality, according to the reading that I've been doing, If you could tell me where you saw that information, I would really like to read up on that. :D
