I am attempting to back-up a DVD-9 disc (Cowboy Bebop session 1). I was having some odd troubles when I split it up into two discs (Bebop has a VTS per episode, so I simply copied files over into directories). I went back and re-did the decryption with DVD-Decrypter (in File-mode, as before) and then decided to test something out: I created a DVD-9-sized image directly from the freshly ripped files using ImgTools. When I tried to play from this image, the troubles manifested again!
The problem manifests itself when you attempt to play any of episodes 3-5 out of the 5. Any attempt to play them returns you to the scene access menu. This does not happen with the DVD original. I thought originally that it was due to some screw-up with the split, but I think that creating an image directly from the ripped files shows that it is either DVD-Decrypter or ImgTools. To further confuse, when you play the files in PowerDVD file mode, it works fine.
I am using DVD-Decrypter v3.1.4.0 and ImgTools 0.89.
I will try to find another image-making program so that I can narrow down the problem some more.
