Well i have run this thing thru two times now and i cannot seem to get the desired file size that i select. I set it to manual settings. Removed all audio except english ac3. Removed subtitles. Moved slider so that it would produce a 4.13gig size. After it was done, i got a 5.3 disc. Did it again, setting it to 3.90 desired size, and i get a 4.7gig disc. What am i doing wrong here?

You're not doing anything wrong, you just picked a movie that doesn't compress as well as InstantCopy thinks. Lower the value even more until you get what you want.

I used the search function. But every thread was about the files being too SMALL, as mine are coming out too BIG.

Yes, I realized that after I posted, which is why the revised post.
Size is a problem with InstantCopy, in both directions. You have to play with it. And considering its speed, that's not going to make people happy. In this thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46105 is a tool for people getting undersized copies. The tool lets you ask for output larger than a DVD.

I am trying to do Band of Brothers DVDs. Lemme give you a little more info.

I did disc 4 with auto resize. It came out to be 4.02 gigs. I watched it and wasnt exactly happy with the results and i also noticed that it kept all of the english audio tracks. AC3, DTS, and Dolby 2 channel. So i decided to try the next disc with that manual selections since it let you remove audio files. I removed all but english AC3, removed the subtitles (no one here knows french or spanish) and adjusted the slider to give a larger output file size for the video tracks. I have done this twice now with this disc. Slider set at 4.13gigs and i get a ~5 gig output, set slider to 3.9gigs and i get ~4.7gig output.

Just seems to me like someone released a program that is premature again.

This is a bug...update your Retail (not demo..not scene crap) release and it's fixed.

copied and pasted from pinnacles official FAQ/Q&A (http://pinnacle.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/pinnacle.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?&p_lva=&p_li=&p_page=1&p_prod_lvl1=48&p_prod_lvl2=51&p_cat_lvl1=%7Eany%7E&p_search_text=&p_new_search=1&p_search_type=3&p_sort_by=dflt)

The transcoded image is oversized, respectively the error message "the medium is out of space" occurs.

Question
The transcoded image is oversized, respectively the error message "the medium is out of space" occurs.

Answer
After the removal of no longer required audio-tracks(e.g. the german or french language)to gain additional space for the main video, the calculated/estimated size is too large.
Solution:
Update installation (problem solved]

Well since it is not availible to me as retail yet and i am stuck with this demo, i guess there isnt much i can do. I tried using ifoedit first on it and removing what i didnt want. Now i will jsut run it thru autoresize and see what i get.

And it seems to me that if this is a known bug. Why do they not update the demo version. How am i supposed to decide if i want to spend the money on an app when teh demo version isnt working properly? Sorry i'll step off my soapbox now

keep it all automatic m8....no probs then.
Why remove all the subtitles, its only 2mb for each sub...so
And otherwise it's better to use DVD2ONE or use Doom9's guide
with maestro is my opinion.

Problem with this is every "test" you do takes 4 hours !
I did XXX thinking (As the program told) that I'd wind up
a 4.32 disk, it kept coming out with 4.68 or there about, funny DVD2One hits 4.36 everytime.

Well here is how i worked around the "BUG".

i just used ifoedit to remove the subs and audio i didnt want. Then i tried to use that customizer trick and had no luck. But i did get a fully working backup of one of the band of brothers disk and it dont look too bad quality wise. At least with the removal of the extra audios, it put a little more into the video.
