NLE @ 50fps

Hi!

I want to make out some video composition with a bunch of AVI files captured with a Matrox Marvel (PAL). They are interlaced MJPEG files.

I want to preserve the smoothness / fluid motion, and I have saw that going to non-interlaced @ 25 fps (converting with VirtualDub, for ex.) give not a very good results: parts with fast moving camera skip a lot, and don't look good.

I tried this: opened with VirtualDub, popping out extended options and choosed to "Split interlaced frames into two fields and double frame rate", and then resized the frames doubling along the Y axis.
Video look perfect, at 50fps.
Since space is not a problem (they are short videos), I'm happy with the results, but I have a problem.

Anyone know of a Non Linear Editor software that could work with 50fps material? I have tried with the Trial version of the (rather old) MainActor, with no luck. I have read that even Premiere may have some problem...

Any other software to try? Or a complete different approach that I could use?

I would think that premiere would work well (although I have nefver tested it). I would try that route first, cause I can't see why it wouldn't work. also, look here: http://www.100fps.com , it has a good tutorial thing on how to do Weave + Progressive Scan (really the best way to "deinterlace" if you are willing to go to 50 fps PAL or 60 FPS NTSC).
