Multi episode DVDs

Tried to make a copy of Spaced (5 episoded on one DVD)
It did run hours, created pdi file, extracted VIDEO_TS with Ultraiso
Episode 1 will play OK, but the mau does NOT work for any other episodes.
Sure it is down to pointers in ifo/vob files pointing to a previous structure (which did change by recompression)
But IC did not adjust ifo files accordingly

Anybody tried any multi episode discs?

Episodic DVDs will always be a problem, each one is mastered in different ways. DVDxcopy has same issue and is resolving this in upcoming versions using templates that will be supplied by them. For example, when you go to backup X-Files NTSC, you choose the template X-Files NTSC from the DVDxcopy database.

My thoughts are Pinnacle is taking the same approach and this is what this is for:
"Use Online Transcoding Database" settings on the Advanced - General tab

Would X-files be non-strand or strand? I am doing the NTSC R1.

Try it and find out. The only way you will know is if you rip the DVD to your hard drive or at least look at the how the DVD is made. After tweaking that guide I haven't heard any real complaints yet. It seems to work for everything.

Never use Ultraiso (use pdi2iso to convert to iso).
ultraiso is known to corrupt files during conversion.

There's a new utility called PDIXtract that extracts the contents of the .pdi to a directory without first having to convert to .iso. It has its own thread. UltraISO corrupted files I extracted yesterday with it.

I just finished X-Files Season 1 DVD 1 with InstantCopy. It turned out perfectly. It has 4 episodes in their own PGC. The only problem it made the completed files just barely over 4GB and not close to 4.32GB. Oh well, I'm still very satisfied.
