I'm trying to create an Ogg Media file which contains 1 AC3 soundtrack (english @256Kbps thanks to Ac3Machine) and 2 Ogg Vorbis soundtrack (french and english comments done with OggMachine).
Then, I've mux all theses track with the Xvid video with VirtualDubMod. I specified the chapters in AC3 audio track in since there is no chapter as input stream. Is is the good way ? And I didn't add subrip subtitle, I prefer to use Vobsub and the FilmName.rar extern file.
The output file is working quite fine, but there is a little problem : the 3 soundtrack aren't all recognized as Audio track.
With Media Player Classic, in player audio switcher menu, there are only the 2 ogg track which wrong references : the first ogg refers to AC3 track and the 2nd to 1st Ogg track, so I can't switch here to comments track.
In the Ogg Splitter Menu, I've got 2 audio sections : one with the AC3 track which is always selected, and the other with the 2 ogg, which one is always selected (so there are always 2 track selected). Here I can switch between french and comments track, but then, I can't access back to english AC3 track.
Any idea to have three "true" track between which I could switch without problem ?
Then, I wanted to try with last OggMux but it seems to require wav-AC3 as input and not "true" AC3. How can I add this wav header ?
Finaly, I would like to congratulate the muxer developpers for the perfect management of chapters, which was a problem when I made my first OGM 10 months ago. I appreciate that the chapters timestamps and numbers are ajusted for each part of my file.

Unfortunately it is not possible ATM to have different formats for the audio streams, because it creates one output pin for eaxch format, one for video with FourCC "divx", one for Vorbis-Audio (and maybe one for subtitle). Inside this formats you can switch the channels. But if you mux ac3-audio and vorbis-audio, you get 3 output pins, one for video, one for vorbis and one for ac3. It could be even possible that you hear the ac3-sound and the vorbis-sound at the same time, because there are two audio renders.
In next big release of OggDS it will be possible Tobias told me. So you can also use Speex for example for comments. It will create one output pin for each stream and only output in the selected stream.
To create ac3-wav use this tool: http://mukoli.free.fr/ac32wav/

NOW is possible.
If you mux ac3 & ogg sound streams, most players will play it at the same time, but with ZOOMPLAYER you can choose. In the oggds system icon only appears 1 stream, but in the player menu "Audio Track" You will see two DirectSound options, one for each stream :)

Thanks for your answers.
I've tried Ac32Wav to add wav header ; the file seems good, but OggMux crashs when I tried to mux all my files.
So, I've keep VirtualDubMod as the best OGM muxer since I could choose the keyframes for cutting.
In theorie, is it better to have a true AC3 file or an AC3 with wav header in Ogg Media ?
I've in fact 2 audio tracks played by TCMP, but only one with Media Player Classic.

BlackSun told me the the same, and that the file that I'm creating today will be well played with this new realease.

In theorie, is it better to have a true AC3 file or an AC3 with wav header in Ogg Media ? The header is just important for muxing. The wav-header is just for correctly parsing the file. The header gets removed in the ogm.

Unfortunately you´re wrong, because the ogm structure will change (because ogm joined xiph) and your file won´t be compatible by other reasons. Maybe it can still be played, but it is better to convert (lossless) it to new ogm then.

I've used speex to encode the comments, but how can I mux the spx file in a Ogg Media file ?
I've tried to add a .ogg extension but the file is then unreadable, and VirtualDubMod don't want this file.
Another point is that the Speex DirectShow filter failed to install. I've tried "regsvr32 speexDS.dll" in c:\windows\system32 directory, but LoadLibrary failed
And will not this solution play the 3 tracks at the same time ?
Then, I've recompress the comments track in ogg vorbis @ 32Khz (I've made this resampling for speex), and it doesn't work well : the 32Khz is played accelerated because of the others tracks which are @48Khz.
Conclusion : Ogg Media don't support multi audio track with differents sample rate.

How long is it going to be before the next release that you are talking about? I have just finished a really nice backup using the current ogm container, but you say that it will not be valid when the new one comes? Should I hold off on burning it and wait for the new release or is it going to be a while?

I tried that, but I get a "List index out of bounds" if I try to select the other audio track, at which point everything stops. Maybe I'll just break down and ::shudder:: do dual-audio in AVI.
Any ideas on why I'd get index OOB errors / how to fix it?

Just break down and wait less than two weeks for Matroska to be released. I do not doubt that there will be issues, but the filters and tools are all open source, and being actively worked on.
