Saving Segmented AVIs

Virtual Dub 1.4.13 does not generate a segmented series when saving in the segmented avi option -
instead of generating a new unique segment it overwrites the previous segment -
does that option really work?

What do you mean? It's always worked fine for me.

I am glad it works for you -
I take it then that there is nothing wrong with the program -
When I save the first segmented avi the program will save it as something like "test.00.avi" -
But then when I save the second segment it will again try to save it as "test.00.avi" instead of "test.01.avi" and will give me a warning that the existing file will be overwritten... and indeed will be overwritten when I proceed with saving the segment -
I can only make this work when I manually assign a unique name to each segment and then manually append each segment to the clip -

The Save Segmented AVI is to automatically break a large >2GB avi into smaller pieces.
