What drive do you have? You can try to assign a driver manually as explained in the .pdf file in the program's directory. If you don't see one listed, I don't know what you should do.
Good luck,

If I select Assign Driver, I get a box with is SUPPOSED to have drivers in there to select. But is TOTALLY empty!

Question
CD/CD-R/DVD drives disappear or are not loaded properly after installing Instant CD/DV, InstantCopy, Expression or Studio 8

Answer
There is a known problem that is also discussed at the Microsoft web site at this link.
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q270/0/08.ASP

Remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

NOTE: If you are getting a code 39 message, it may be that additional third-party filter drivers were added to UpperFilters and LowerFilters values in addition to Adaptec filter drivers. In that case, you may try to remove the non-Adaptec filter drivers first, leaving the Easy Creator filters in place to see if the Code 39 goes away. If you still receive an error code 39, 32, or 31 message, remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely in the preceding key.

Restart your computer.

I have no adaptec software at all. And in fact CD & CDR works fine in every other application (ie. nero)
It is only IC that does not have them

sebus,

I had the same problem when I installed the program. Have no idea why or what causes it, but I did see in my Windows XP event viewer that there is an error on startup that may be the problem. Very weird.

I did find a "work-around" though.

I went to the VOB web site (http://www.vob.de/us/Downloads.htm) and downloaded the recorder update and installed it. All it does is add a bunch of Registry entries to your system. Well I did that and I have been able to use InstantCopy without a problem.

Strange that I had to do it that way but it appears to be working fine now.

Hope that helps ... or that someone finds a real fix for the problem.

I had the same problem, no drives showing up in destination, and could not add them since no drivers available. I also got the "Failed To Set Data" error and IC would not run. I found it was a registry problem in WinXP. I ran Regedit, went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and found the permissions for the main Software folder did not have the Administrators listed. I added it in and set the permissions to Full Control, then reinstalled Instant Copy and all was working. All my drives showed up as destinations, all drivers were there. I have had no problems since then.
