Hi,
I have a 1.2 GHz Athlon w/ an ATI video card using VfW drivers to capture some home VHS tapes. I'm using the Huffyuv 2.1.1 codec but every time I hit some static or other hiccup in the tape (quite often for home videos) my capture crashes out. I've used AVI_IO, VDub and IUVCR (w/ WDM drivers) and they all crash.
To try and narrow down the culprit, I used the same tape with the same listed capture apps but instead used PicVideo's MJPEG codec at Quality=19 and there were no problems. Seems the Huff codec may be the cause of the crashes, though I'm sure the author never intended it to capture glitches in the video feed.
Anyone else experience this? I would prefer to use Huff since it is lossless but these crashes are a real setback.
