How do you change the avi header from "dvsd" to "CDVC" to make the DV file to be seen by the Canopus DV Codec without having to convert the whole DV file?

You can use the four CC changer, for example:

make sure to disable any dvsd codec.
there is a simple codec swapping program available:

also read this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33526
I found that it is only possible to have one dvsd codec active at one time.
I put the codec on the inactive list before installing another codec: otherwise you probably lose the existing one.
the codec swapping program will show all codecs installed, both active and inactive.
if it does not show then most likely installed improperly.
look into your system 32 folder.
