Hi i'm new here but here is my thing i made a copy of a movie from my friend but the image quality is not quite good and the sound the same what can i do to change that what program can i use and one more thing wich program is the best to cut scenes and cut sound of a movie or serie's?

Since this is your first post I won't strike you for anything, but read the forum rules 2 more times please - and then follow them.
In particular interest of yours is rule 1 and 1a.
Read the guides, read the FAQs.
You're on doom9's here, and there are PLENTY of guides which tell you how you can do certain tasks.
You should provide some more information as well.
Video of your friends: from DV cam? A DVD? A VHS tape of a TV series?
How do you encode things now? MPEG2? MPEG4? (Thus: SVCD/DVD, DivX, XviD,..?), which programs do you use?
As you can see we can't help you because we can't read your mind.

But first, please read the guides. We aren't a "I ask because I'm too lazy to read" forum, sorry for that.
