Hi,

I searched and tried to follow all the info I found, but I still can't get it to work.

I'm reauthoring extras on ScoobyDoo region 2 (PAL). There is one VTS_03, made of 6 PGCs, with no chapters. I used DOitFast4u to extract all the stuff, so I had 6 M2v files and corresponding AC3 files.
I reencoded the files to a reasonable size with CCE, no problem so far.
Now I go to DVDmaestro, want to reauthor the VTS as it was in the original (6 PGCs).
Here's what I did, tell me where I failed :

1. insert all M2V files one after the other on the video timeline in Movie 1.
2. Create sync audio track from all the AC3 files corresponding to PGC1 to 6.
3. Create chapters, one at each PGC start (as reported by IFOUPdate in the stream information file).
4. Create 6 playlists, as reported by IFOUpdate in the stream information files.
5. On playlist 1, insert chapter point 1
6. On playlist 3, insert chapter point 2
and so on until playlist 6 and chapter point 6.
7. compile and check final ifo with IFOedit

Surprise : I have 7 pgcs instead of 6, PGC2 to PGC7 are almost OK (they match the original PGC1 to PGC6), but there is a new PGC1 containing all the chapters I created in Maestro. Where does this PGC1 come from ?

What did I do wrong ? Can someone explain me why I get this PGC1 ?

I hope this description is clear enough for someone to help me here, cause I tried a lot of things and I can't get this to work.

Thanks

New to these forums & relatively new to authoring, but you have copied your newly made VOB backover to the original directory and used IFOupdate on the newly made IFO (& original IFO) file? It's the only thing I see you never mentioned. (or is this an automatic thing with DOitFast4u? - never used it)

Thanks for trying to help/

But my problem lies before the final IFOUpdate part. I just checked the inside of the IFO created by Maestro, which should not include more PGCs than the original, but they do include 7 pgc instead of 6. So there is no need for me to go through the final IFOupdate operations since it is more than likely that the files I generated with maestro are not correct.

See what I mean ?

Thanks again for your interest in my prob.

Hello again.

Maestro builds the 1st pgc that contains all the others as u must have noticed. Its a Maestro thing and u can do nothing about it. However in ifoupdate check the Maestro mode and it will delete the 1st pgc leaving all the other, u really want, in place and ready to 'Get VTS'

Efharisto Odysseus,

So when I will use IFOupdate in Maestro mode on my Maestro created Files, it will delete the first PGC ? Goood :-)

I'll try this right now.

Well, if it works, I'm pretty happy I figured out this crazy Playlist stuff :-)

Yep, oddyseus is exactly right. After your Maestro authoring, the PGC's won't look right until you put it into IFOUpdate. Give it a shot, you'll see...
