Creating our own keyframes - is it possible?

Hi!

I just ask if it is possible create our own keyframes. I've got a movie and i want to split it in two parts. But we only can split it at the keyframes, otherwise it would be "damaged". So, is it possible create our own keyframes? If so, how?
