Pal and NTSC

Hi,
Just wandering if some one could explain to me why I can view a NTSC SVCD perfectly on my PAL TV with a Toshiba SD210E, but if I try a NTSC DVD all I get is black and white.
It would seem logic to me that if I can see one correctly I should also be able to see the other.
Any ideas?

You probably have a PAL60 option on your player.
Try to configure your player to always make a PAL60 signal when it detects an NTSC disc.

no such option in my dvd player ether Pal or All and it is set to all
But that should make no difference since it plays my NTSC SVCD perfectly

Strange, maybe you're using a RGB connection to your TV (SCART) and your player turns RGB off when playing DVDs?
