View Full Version : how to play divx movies on a PC where you don't have permissions

i know the title sounds a bit dodgy but the software involved is perfectly legal and won't impact on the PC.
simply get movix from
http://movix.sourceforge.net
All it is is a mini linnux distro that boots entirely into memory.
You then remove the cd and put in a dvdx cd. It has a basic menu that allows you to the select the file and play.
It uses mplayer to play the movie.

Hey very nice , just watched a whole movie using it and no problems ,you could also use it for a stand alone divx player , and there is no cost for a hard drive :D just a cd/dvd drive .

Anyone tried it on a slow old pc who nows if it suport TV out?

yes it does support tv out , and streaming video etc, although my brooktree card does not work with it , but i might be wrong i didnt realy test tv out, i will try try in a bit and update :D
