PAL or NTSC cards?

Hi all, just a quick question (I'm late to school :P)

I'm thinking of buying a VIVO card from an online store from the US that can ship overseas (its MUCH cheaper)... I live in a PAL country. The cards are the same for all the world or it would only be able to capture NTSC? It's a Winfast A280 LE myVIVO.

I have one of those, it was dirt cheap here (120 quid, 160 euro?). That was in november i think - 8x card. But... they support both NTSC and PAL signals.

Are you getting one especially for the capture, or to game...

I don't game much, I want a card specially for capturing from my old Video8 camera, to convert it into mpeg2 and then copy it to DVD. (we have a DV camera now but I don't want the tapes with all our old videos to deteriorate) Would be there MUCH diference with a 'real' capture card? From what I've read in this forum, vivo cards capture quite fine...

ps: $120 are a bit less than 120eur :) where did you get it? it's a damn good price...

I paid 120 GBP (great britain pound-sterling), about 160 euros', U can now get it for about 100 pound, that is something like 130 euro's.

It is a fine card if you just want to do simple captures, of course, a standalone would be better, but for the budget concerned, and somone who wants to get a kick ass graphics card for next to nothing (GeForce 4 Ti4200 8x (SAA7108 Analogue>Digital Converter on capturing) it is fine, as my GeForce is overclocked to about 4600 speeds with NO additional hardware, all I did was take it to peices and add some decent thermal conductor stuff.

As you have a DV camera, it might be an idea to use this as an analog/digital converter to input your videos as dv via a firewire card.
