Three scenarios, tell me which one is best for image quality ;)
(I know it doesn't really fit the forum, but it fits many of them, there's no "Color Spaces" forum ;))
1. Scenario 1
YUV .d2v
YUV cropping & resizing with AviSynth
ConvertToRGB()
Subtitling with AviSynth
ConvertBackToYUY2()
VirtualDub encoding in fast recompress mode
2. Scenario 2
YUV .d2v
YUV cropping & resizing with AviSynth
Virtual Dub encoding & subtitling in full processing mode (which makes an implicit RGB conversion)
3. Scenario 3
RGB .d2v
Virtual Dub cropping, resizing, subtitling & encoding in full processing mode
In short, is there any advantage in using YUV2 at some point of the ripping process, if you have to end up with an RGB output (or with an RGB-converted/reconverted source) ?
thx
