Just wondering if it was possible to turn on TMPGEnc's noise reduction through AVISynth together with DVD2SVCD. I've been using DVD2SVCD for a while now with CCE 2.50 and haven't really like the output of CCE's "anti noise filter"

I like TMPGEnc's output when noise reduction is used rather than using a combination of AVISynth commands such as Sharpen & TemporalSmoother or using CCE's "Anti Noise Filter". But I have not seen any option in DVD2SVCD to indicate that it will allow the use of TMPGEnc's noise reduction routine.

If it's not possible to turn on TMPGenc's noise reduction through AVISynth, could this be a possible request in a future version of DVD2SVCD.

If above is not possible can anybody recommend an AVISynth plugin that produces results similar to that of TMPGEnc's NR when used by itself.

remember the search is your friend...

go to the encoder tab and click on the advanced settings drop down box and you can check the noise field.

::edit:: next time use a better description for your title.."is it possible to..." is a good way to get ignored.

Sorry but noise reduction is totally different from "soften block noise"

soften block noise refers to macro block noise reduction. which can be found under the !Quantize Matrix! tab in TMPGEnc

noise reduction under the advanced tab performs a different type of noise reduction overall picture quality and is found under the !Advanced TAB!

sorry about the general subject title, next time be more specific got it.

Checked DVD2SVCD>Encoder TAB for TMPGEnc's and the noise reduction spoken of there is not the noise reduction I was referring to.

hoozdapimp, TMPGEnc's "noise reduction" NOT "soften block noise"
thanks for reply anyway

Please follow forum rules.

9) Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.

I am closing this thread since it's unlikely with such a title you will get much help anyway. If you still have an issue repost with a better title.

However I do not believe what you want is possible right now, but I don't use TMPG so I am no expert on this.
