I am using a Pinnacle DC10 card with good results.
But this card only captures up to 640X480 - resizing for dvd is necessary but quite easy.
Dazzle is great but pricey.

What capturing program do you use?
I've been able to use the DC10 card only in Studio 8.
There I have not been able to make it capture more than 640X480.

I also use Studio 7/8 (and Windows 2000). This is the setting
I always use this setting (Studio 7):

O.K.
for NTSC the card is limited to 640X480 -
DVD specs require 720X480 for NTSC: reseizing becomes necessary.
I use Fit2Disk which also takes care of the aspect ratio.

I took the quality of the DC-10 card for granted.
Following suggestions on the forum I found that the cheapest TV card with the BT8x8 chipset and using the open source driver easily out-performs the Pinnacle card.
The only recommendation for the card is its hardware compression.
