What's everyone's opinion on the best movie organizer? I've been playing around with eXtreme Movie Manager, but is there a better one out there? I don't want to import all my movies into one database and find out I could have done it better (over 175 movies, ~300 CDs), then have to re-do it due to incompatible databases.

I've been using Moviebox that works quite well, but it's old so I wouldn't recommend it. I'm also looking for something new.

Is there any (preferably freeware) organizer for video and mp3?
I had a database of around 50 of my movies (including covers) with NBS catalogue (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23243&perpage=20&highlight=nbs&pagenumber=1).
Then I lost the whole database when I formatted the wrong partition of my HD...
I think I'm going to use NBS again to make a new db, but I'm not sure yet

I decided to register eXtreme Movie Manager. It made the whole process easy, with the Mass-CD add and the information import with scripts. I'm nearly done putting all my movies in. It makes it incredibly easy to pick out a movie now, as I have a thumbnails page with all the covers, and I can sort the movies by any category with one click. Worth $10, yes.

I used that extreme movie thing for a while, but i got rid of it when i found Movie Library. This is way beter. Best ive found so far, saves putting in all data manually with an automatic data retreval thing from the net.

You truly have used eXtreme Movie ? I think not, because you must know that you can retreval data from internet from more than 50 different web sites...

DVDProfiler is free as long as you don't want the hi-res cover art. That will cost money, otherwise it's free and a damn fine program.

I've been using eXtreme Movie Manager for a while now. It's exactly what I was looking for. $10 is damn cheap for the convience (sp?) it adds.

Hey guys,
I have release a new version, eXtreme Movie Manager 1.4.
I have fix all problems of the 1.3 :
->Now the codec engine are fast like in the past releases, no more minutes to read a movie file.
->Now the Database Conversion works correctly.
->The Export Window now write the correct name, and not DivxManager ;)
->The Multiple Changes manager now has this new function : "Replace words on Titles..." and "Replace words on Series..."

Hi,
Now understand, you like put your collection online, this is good , so why don't take a look at our (x)HTML-DB ?
With (x)HTML-DB you can put the collection online with few clicks, and if you don't like it, we have also ready ASP pages (like your PHP I think).

Is there a dvd manager program that also can print dvd-size card inserts with director, actor, etc. information? I don't need the picture but I would like a handy, visible reference of title name, etc.
thanks,
Bob

Hi
just want to give my 2 cents :P
ive been using both Ant movie gatalog and Extreme movie manager..
Ant's is pretty good, for a free one.. but i doesnt compare to XMM :)
thou im waiting XMM to get a bit better.. theres some issues id like to see solved :)
The development on XMM is fast and you get new stuff all the time..
Its really great tool.. best one that ive found.
cheers

Maybe, if you use Linux with apache and mysql, you should look into
PHPPowermovieList (http://powermovielist.nikosams.com/index.php)
It does the job very well for me. Can import from imdb, writes data into a mysql database.

The main drawback of XMM is its inability to convert the movie collection database from other formats, e.g. from Excel CSV file or HTML file. I mean real import with all movie info: codec, size, language, titles, etc.
On the other hand ANT Movie Catalog can do that easily, and is very flexible in that part. It has its own drawbacks though.
Since I have had a movie collection of more than 200 titles made with ANT, I would never even look at XMM unless it will allow me to convert my movie database automatically.

Don't worry, we will soon make an utility for import the movie collections from others softwares and files. As you can see, we work very hard everyday for make XMM better and better, so any new ideas and suggestion are appreciated!
:D
The new release 1.6 is ready!

Since 6-9 months the developpement of Ant Movie Catalog was not as fast as before. It's because I had not enough time for it, and also because for next version I rewrite most of the program. But the development is not stopped, and when the version 4.0 will be ready it will be updated more often ;)
