Okay to start off with thanks to everyone who subscribes to this (and all other) Doom9 forum for providing usually more than adequate instructions on svcd authoring. Okay enough props. And I appologize in advance if there is a thread that I have overlooked that addresses this problem.

Quandary:

Is it possible to contain CDDA on SVCD AND sync the CDDA (9 tracks) to the video (MPEG2 no audio). The desired result would be a cd that can either play the audio tracks in a normal cd player and be able to pop the disc into my DVD player and watch my vid. Also curious as to whether or not the music would still be sync'd after using the "Next" and "Previous" buttons on my remote because the scenes do not always correspond 100% (in legnth) to the audio tracks. Also a potetial problem is that wile watching the video audio track one would start approximately 15 seconds into the track (skipping the first 15 seconds of audio on CDDA track 1 but I would like to keep the track in its entirety on the cd if possible but if need be will split the first track into two tracks with no gap)

I've created a quasi-interactive menu in mpg2 format with sound (10 second mpeg2 file.) And would like to keep it as independant as possible from the "main" video sequence due to the fact that I do not want the CDDA tracks synced to this menu. It has its own audio.

Do I need to learn how to code my own xml in order to do this or is there an easier way.

The sync playing the audio and video tracks is not possible - I bet the dvd player next 5 generations will also not do this.

It is possible to create VCD with CDDA tracks by using one of following authoring software:
1. Philips VCD creator
or
2. VCDEasy + FireBurner

i didn't really understand what rswiatek queston was about, so it might be the same.

i have been wondering, instead of using mp2 for a vcd, can i use cdda for the video's audio; so i can watch about 80min of music videos on a dvd player/computer and then take it to a cd player and heard it too?

a normal cd-r has a capacity of 80min, both vcd part and cdda part occupy place on the cd-r. So you can put, for example, 40min cdda + 40 vcdmin video(with mp2 audio mutiplexed) on a normal cd-r. Of cause you can more compress the vcd part(use loewer bitrate or even VBR) to put more thing on cd-r.
