standalone should play SVCD's, but it's not?

I burned my first SVCD this morning. I played it first on my friends APEX AD-1500 DVD Player and it worked great. When I brought it home to my Panasonic RV32 DVD Player, the video and audio were freezing terribly.

My friends DVD Player is on the list here of players that play SVCD's, but I didn't see mine. So I went to vcdhelp.com and found mine... it shows it as being able to play SVCD's.

So if the disk is good and plays in another standalone player, and my player should be able to play SVCD's, would I possibly be looking at a bitrate problem with my player?

I've read quite a bit, and am still looking, but if I could get steered in the right direction, it might help me out a bit.

Did you read all the comments on your DVD or only check the front at vcdhelp. Many times the front list is wrong or comes with restrictions.

Most things are common sense. Panasonic's are, overall, not known as good SVCD players regardless of what that list says. Post the model number and I will have a look.

Try different media. Try lowerings your bitrate. If your audio was set to 128 raise it to at least 160 if not higher.

Pretty much you know this is not a DVD2SVCD issue and more a Stand Alone issue. If you want use to have a look at your settings then paste your log file, but I am really leaning towards it's your DVD players fault.
