I guess this post should go here??
You mention that the user has to import all assets and then change the drop setting for each one of them. I'd think it's easier to go to "Settings->Default settings" and set the drop type to "Drop Frame" - then everything that gets imported is already in the proper mode. ;)

Of course. I do that all the time. Is that not what I said in the guide? Please give me the section you are looking at so I can take a look myself. Perhaps I worded something improperly. Thanks!

Yeah, I didn't believe you did not know that :)
OK, in the "part 5: Reauthoring" you have the following words:
"If your source is NTSC you must set Drop Type to Drop frame for EVERY asset (including audio even if an audio has no framerate).
PAL projects don't need that step."
Well, since you don't mentiont default settings, naturally whoever follows these steps will go and change drop type for EVERY asset - one by one.
But again, it is a small detail. The main thing (perhaps you are already seek of being praised :) ) - great guide and great chart! Thank you!

Um...have you really read my guides? ;) The quote you list is from Doom9's guide. In fact, I went and checked and I even specifically explain how to set this particular setting in the "Import Audio and Video Assets" section.

Oh, I apologize!
I saw the "completely rewritten Full DVD backup" and I thought this whole thread was about it ;) Didn't you write it?!
Well, you are the master anyway! But since there must be something to pick on (just to keep you on your toes) - I agree with the request about printable version (I'm cool with any version, but others seem to have problems). Even though you keep updating the guides, it's still convenient to print the current version, instead of reading it in the window that could be on another computer!
Now back to reading, I've got new guide to digest :)
Have a great day, Trilight (if it's day now where you are :P)

Thanks, man. I appreciate that. As for the other guide, I may work on some form of printable version later. I just finished the "Insomnia Notes Advanced Guide" and I've kind of burned out for now. Check it out when you get a chance. I think you'll find a lot of advanced (though fully explained) information there. Good luck with your projects! :)
