View Full Version : audio is exactly 1 second after video

hi i'm tryingto convert from ntsc DVD to pal VCD. i haevn't ripped the movie with dvd2svcd, but i can't rerip it becuase i don't have it any more. so i'm stuck with the one i ripped with dvd decriptor.
when i load the IFO file, in the "movie lenth" menu, there's the main movie (1.50) and then there's a second one whcih is 1 second long. i choose the first one.
then i select dvd2svcd/movie as the default folder, and tick ntsc >pal, and click start. after a whole night, the audio is one second after the video throughout the movie on both cd's.
what i was thinking of doing is just to cut the audio stream by 1 second at the beginning and then muxxing it with the video, but mp3trim has a limit and i need another program. but will it work?
i've searched the whole forum and none's had this problem with ntsc to pal conversion, just the other way round.
edit: erased the ini as it was not needed

Hello!
If you read a bit around at the forum, you will see, that no other rippers than the internal and vstrip are supported, especially not DVD Decrypter.
BTW, you havenī posted your log, but the ini. Better post the log. Do you still have all the files? If so, you can try the following to cut the first second of the audio:
->search your log for the besweet - commandline, like:
F:\DVDRip\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "F:\DVDRip\tattoo\Extracted_audio_1.ac3" -output "F:\DVDRip\tattoo\Encoded_audio_1.mp2" -logfile "F:\DVDRip\tattoo\Encoded_audio_1.log" ) -azid( -L -3db -C 3db -c normal -s surround -g max ) -2lame( -e -b 192 -m s )
->add the followin parameter to the commandline:
-ota( -d -1 )
->run it and then recover your project from muxing and cutting. That should do the job.

just to add to winxi's post:
1) you can do the audio editing in besweet using the besweet gui. there is a button in the 'partial encoding' section. select "1" in the start box. load your mp2 (encoded_audio.mp2) in the input tab, select the new output for your mp2 file, and then click the start button (it will probably say 'mp2 to mp2'.
2) once the conversion is done, make sure you rename your old encoded_audio.mp2 to something else, and rename your new file back to encoded_audio.mp2.
3) to resume from the muxing/cutting stage, edit your .d2s file in the ripped directory and change "source position" = 62.
Now you can recover and hopefully everything will come out ok :)

Hi!
Be Sweet didn't start at all
What do you mean? When didnīt it start? Are you sure you did execute it? I think that that would be the easiest way. How did you dvd2svcd made run the following:
"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\Movies\BARBERSHOP\Extracted_audio_1.ac3" -output "C:\Movies\BARBER~1\Encoded_audio_1.mp2" -logfile "C:\Movies\BARBER~1\Encoded_audio_1.log" ) -azid( -L -3db -c normal -s surround -g max ) -ota( -r 960 1001 ) -shibatch( --rate 44100 ) -2lame( -e -b 224 -m s ) -ota( -d -1 )
Try it with only one -ota parameter, execute this one and let me know if it works:
"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\Movies\BARBERSHOP\Extracted_audio_1.ac3" -output "C:\Movies\BARBER~1\Encoded_audio_1.mp2" -logfile "C:\Movies\BARBER~1\Encoded_audio_1.log" ) -azid( -L -3db -c normal -s surround -g max ) -ota( -r 960 1001 -d -2 ) -shibatch( --rate 44100 ) -2lame( -e -b 224 -m s )
Simply click start -> execute in windows, copy and paste the
commandline and click ok.
You can also try to use a movie offset of two seconds under the bbmpeg tab.

btw, winxi, i didn't realise i was supposed to use that command at the command prompt. i pasted it into the dvd2svcd log file. now that i think about it, it was very stupid of me, but it works now, thank you. ;

10th February 2003, 18:52
Ok, but now you have to test around a bit :). With my commandline you will cut off two seconds. For only one i.e. change the
-ota( -r 960 1001 -d -2 )
paramter to
-ota( -r 960 1001 -d -1 )
greets
edit: stupid me, this means miliseconds of course!
so to cut off the first second, you have to change it to:
-ota( -r 960 1001 -d -1000 )
thatīs it!
