What is the point of 9.4GB DVD-Rs?

I see the Ritek 9.4GB double sided media. But what is the point of them? First, they cost more the twice as much as the single sided media.

And then where do you write with a marker? :confused:

1) They're damn good for IT companies who have to save physical space.

2) It's one disc, not two.

3) You write on the little center ring.
